Dirty Deeds… Done Dirt Cheap
KICK OFF, TUNE IN, DROP OUT - A short history of Rugby:
In 1823 William Webb Ellis, a student of Rugby School in Rugby, GB, catches a ball during a football game and runs away with it. Rugby is born.
In 1910 the FC St. Pauli, a well-known German soccer club based in Hamburg, is founded. Also home to both the women and men’s Rugby teams the club combines rock’n roll spirit with fair play and neighborhood credibility. Hailed as “Weltpokalsiegerbesieger” in 2002.
In 2003 the FC St. Pauli Rugby women win German Championship for the 5th time. The men's Rugby team plays in the second division.
From this year’s season on Fork Unstable Media will be the main sponsor of the FC St. Pauli Rugby teams. Fork sponsors the indestructible team jerseys (perfect for rolling around in the dirt) and is in for a long-term marketing cooperation with the FC St. Pauli Rugby Club which might also result in a new website.
Since we at Fork are not above dirtying our hands we will now give you a taste of the hellish Rugby pleasures straight out of the sin-bin (taken from the current USA Rugby lawbook):
A player may not wear any item that is contaminated by blood.
A player may wear a mouth guard or dental protector.
A player who has an open or bleeding wound must leave the playing area. The player must not return until the bleeding is controlled and the wound has been covered.
Exception: Lucky 4rk jerseys may be worn both during and after the game as bloody trophies and a toast to life.
